Refractive Surgery

Refractive surgery refers to eye operations for the purpose of correcting ametropia by means of a medical appliance or device, such as laser or implant (Phakic Intraocular Lens), or surgical instruments. (Source: Wikipedia)

Laser technology plays an increasingly important role due to its great precision and the absence of pain.
The most used procedures are as follows:

  • Femtosecond Lasik
  • Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and
  • ICL (Phakic Intraocular lens)

These operations are performed as outpatient surgery and under local anaesthesia.
